Creator Issuance

We briefly discussed the feedcoin issuance that comes with curating a post in Curating Your Feed. Let's discuss it in more detail.

To review, when a curator curates a post from another user, that user is issued feedcoin shares. There are two types of issuance.

Reward Options

For the first 50 posts curated, post authors are issue a reward option representing 0.1% of total supply. This reward option is available to be exercised whenever the author wants. There is some strategy here related to exercising options. Feedcoins are traded on a bonding curve, meaning supply increases alongside price. That means that recipients may want to wait for the feed to get popular and increase in price before exercising their options. 0.1% of a feedcoin with 1m total supply is a lot more than 0.1% of a feedcoin with 100k total supply.

Consider including your favorite creators in your early curations in order to build alignment with them as shareholders of your feed.

Creators can exercise and claim their options in the miniapp at any time.

Basic Issuance

After the first 50 posts are curated, there are no more reward options. All subsequent curations result in an automatic issuance of 0.002% of supply to the post author. The balance will be credited to their Farcaster primary address and will be immediately tradable.

Curating Your Own Posts

You are encouraged to curate your own posts to your feed. However, they do not count towards the initial 50 posts and they will not result in any feedcoin issuance. You can't credit yourself with feedcoin shares.
